Pug Dog With Tongue

Building a Better Bridge Between Pets, People, and Veterinary Care

Bridge Veterinary Care has served the Bay Shore community since 2002. What started as Island Rescue grew from an effort to provide accessible spay and neuter services for community cats into a veterinary practice caring for dogs, cats, and the people responsible for them.

Today, we are building on that history with a new name and a broader vision. Bridge Veterinary Care is a locally owned, independent animal hospital focused on modern medicine, clear communication, transparent pricing, convenient access, and long-term relationships with pet owners throughout Bay Shore and Long Island.

Expanded Care. Same Trusted Team.

Why the Name Bridge?

A bridge connects two places that might otherwise feel far apart. That idea captures what we want veterinary care to feel like.

We want to bridge the gap between:

  • Medical recommendations and clear explanations
  • Modern veterinary medicine and approachable care
  • Technology and personal connection
  • Pet owners and the veterinary professionals caring for their animals
  • Questions and answers
  • Cost conversations and informed decisions
  • Preventive care today and healthier years ahead

Our Mission

Our mission is to bridge gaps in veterinary care by connecting pets, their families, and the team devoted to improving every experience. If one life becomes better because of a connection we helped create, we consider that meaningful progress.

Who We Are Today

Bridge Veterinary Care is an independent animal hospital for dogs and cats in Bay Shore, NY. We pair the convenience many pet owners now expect with the continuity and personal relationships that can come from a locally owned practice.

That means making care easier to navigate through online scheduling, digital communication, an online pharmacy, same-day urgent care, transparent pricing, and diagnostic capabilities that help our veterinarians investigate concerns efficiently.

It also means knowing that technology should make relationships easier, not replace them.

When you have questions, we want you to receive understandable answers. When there are several treatment options, we want you to know why we recommend one over another. When cost affects a decision, we want that conversation to happen openly and without embarrassment. Veterinary medicine works better when everyone involved can communicate honestly.
