| Pet Cremation Services *Attention* We re-open on July 31st for cremation related services. All veterinary and cremation services (transport/receiving of deceased pets) will be unavailable from Tuesday 7/27 to Friday 7/30. We will be out of town and intermittantly out of cell phone range. We apologize for this temporary closure and will be able to receive pets for cremation on Saturday 7/31. We wish for all of our animals to live happy and healthy lives and experience a peaceful end. This page was developed to inform pet owners of services available for their pet's future needs. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions and remember, whatever your decision, your pet will be forever in your heart. What is Cremation? Cremation is the reduction of the body to its mineral form through heat and evaporation. After the cremation cycle is completed, the small bone fragments (cremated remains) are carefully collected, allowed to cool, and reduced to a uniform consistency. It is not a final service but rather the beginning of one's memorial celebration for their deceased pet. Cremation Choices: Individual Cremation with return of remains- our crematory hearth-style unit allows us to perform cremations that safeguard the identity of your pet's remains. Your pet receives an ID tag with multiple identifiers that is kept with your pet throughout the the cremation cycle. Your pet's cremated remains are then returned to you in a floral container. If you want your pet's remains completely returned to you, please ask for a returned individual cremation choice.
Communal Cremation with no return of remains- an economical choice for pet owners still affording their pet a dignified disposition. Communal cremation is an irreversible act whereby multiple animals are cremated together. As a result, the identity of the animals cannot be maintained when completed. Some owners prefer this choice for their own personal reasons. If you do not want your pet's remains returned, please request a Communal Cremation. We want you to know that none of our communal remains go to a landfill, rendering or transfer site. Entrusted with your pet, we alone responsibly return their cremated remains to the earth.
Special Requests- it is important to us that you have things just the way you want them. It is not uncommon for owners to place their own affectionate notes, poems or flowers with their companion. If there is something you would like to suggest, please do.

Home Euthanasia As you know, our pets look to us to make the tough decisions for them when they are suffering. Aggressive treatments are sometimes the proper course to take but sometimes humane euthanasia is deemed our only compassionate option. Bridge Veterinary Services recognizes that need for owners to have the option of at-home, end-of-life care for pets here in Southeast. Being at home allows you to have your last moments with your loved pet, arrange goodbyes for friends, all in a familiar and peaceful setting. Home euthanasia brings a gentle end to our ailing companions. Bridge Veterinary will never presume to know your pet better than you do and end-of-life decisions must always be at the direction of the pet's owner. Your decision is a personal one, but it need not be a solitary one.
